Angels, Angels everywhere.

La, la, la, la, la…

Our show in Los Angeles really stepped up and delivered what you come to expect, but rarely actually get, out of your tour stops in Los Angeles. It was in the beautiful El Rey Theater, which smacks of old Hollywood. It was packed with a happy and enthusiastic audience. And when it was all over, we got to hang out with some famous types who hung around to talk about the show. We got to meet Lea Thompson (yes, from Back To The Future, but more importantly, from freaking HOWARD THE DUCK!). We met Jon Brion, and I actually got to talk to him for a while, as he and I share a love for the band of Montreal. We met Tegan and Sara, who bought our tote bags! And we got to see, but not meet, Drew Barrymore. All this, while the members of St.Vincent played football on the main floor of the El Rey. It was, to put it very, very mildly, a really nice moment.

We took Friday off and visited a bunch of friends in LA, swung by our booking agency and watched the Lakers with some of the agency’s finest, and tried our best to spend as much of the day as possible in the hot tub, aka “making bear soup.”
